“University of Taipei Christmas Lighting Ceremony”

Taipei University Christmas Lighting Ceremony

As Christmas approaches, the 8th annual "National Taipei University (NTPU) Christmas Lighting Ceremony" is scheduled to take place on December 13th at the Central Lawn of the Sanxia Campus. Thanks to fundraising support from alumni this year, a brand-new, 15-meter-tall Christmas tree will be unveiled. The event will also be jointly celebrated with eight Farglory communities, with the dazzling sea of lights extending from the campus all the way along Xueqin Road, creating the temporary "NTPU Christmas City."This Christmas tree is the tallest physical Christmas tree in Sanxia, making it the most eye-catching new landmark of the Christmas season in the NTPU Special District.

Over the years, National Taipei University has become deeply integrated with the community, collaborating with government agencies, local associations, and businesses to organize various activities. Every year, events ranging from the Green Tea Season, Cherry Blossom Festival, Toy Festival, Black Tea Season, Elder Music Festival, Wind Band Festival, to the Christmas Lighting Ceremony, invite community residents to celebrate together. The focus on local revitalization, community co-prosperity, and sustainable development emphasized in these activities is jointly built by NTPU and local groups. This not only fulfills NTPU’s goal of deeply engaging with the community and practicing its university social responsibility (USR) but is also its pledge.

This year's lighting ceremony, themed "The Light of Christmas, Blooming at NTPU," has an expanded invitation list, welcoming not only all faculty, staff, and alumni but also government units, related universities, and community residents to usher in the annual holiday season under the Christmas tree.

On the day of the event, there will be performances by the Yunsheng Choir, Hot Dance Club, Korean Culture Research Club, and NTPU international students. The nearby Longpu Elementary School Wind Band will also be invited to perform, offering a rich and diverse program ranging from classic Christmas tunes to energetic dances. Food trucks, a gourmet market, a photo-check-in gift activity, and a raffle will also be available on-site. "Da Bei," the beloved campus mascot, will also make an appearance to celebrate with the public.

The public is warmly invited to National Taipei University to enjoy the Christmas holidays together on this winter night.
